Through normal use and by following the instruction manual on proper use, blades should not break.

If a blade does break it is usually from one of the following reasons:

• The controller cap was not kept flat against the glass putting undue pressure on the blade;
   
• the blade tip is being run against the body causing stress on the blade;
   
• The blade is being forced.  Not letting the tool do the work will break blades quickly.
